The Espada

The Espada are a group of Arrancar that are considered the strongest among their kind. They are labeled 0-9 with the 0 espada being the strongest and the 9th espada being the weakest. The Espada are loyal to the one who is even greater in power than all of them, this person is referred to as the Ω Espada. The Espada have the power to choose among the lower level arrancar and make them personal soldiers that serve under them. These arrancar are referred to as the Espada's Fracción. All members of the Espada also represent an aspect of death, this aspect can either be decided by themselves, or granted to them by the omega, depending on their choice.

When lower level arrancar are chosen to become Fracción their numbers change to become Decimals referencing which Espada they are aligned with. (For Instance the Fracción of the Cero Espada would have number Tattoos of 0.1, 0.2 etc). Each Espada can have as many Fracción as they like however only the first 9 (.1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8, .9) earn the right to be listed as they are the strongest among the Espada's Fracción. Their numbers are determined by strength with the one closest to the Espada's actual number (.1) being stronger than those farther away.

Below Fracción are Números who are arrancar which were not chosen by any of the Espada to serve under and in terms of Hierarchy are capable of being ordered around by Fracción.
